Welcome to Elsmere Fire District
Elsmere is one of seven hamlets in the Town of Bethlehem, along with Delmar, Glenmont, Selkirk, Slingerlands and South and North Bethlehem. Elsmere is directly south of and adjacent to the City of Albany, New York’s capital city. It is a modern suburban community that, due to its location in Albany County, offers a unique combination of friendly neighborhoods and convenient retail shopping opportunities. The Town of Bethlehem, incorporated in March of 1793, is a dynamic and diverse community with a population of over 32,000 and total area of 52 square miles.

Company President Elizabeth Miele Celebrated in the Community
Hannaford Supermarkets and B95.5 have partnered to identify and celebrate women in the Capital Region its the 20 Outstanding Women!
They found the women who go above and beyond to make their communities a better place to live. Those unsung heroes in our neighborhoods – the ones who are already busy, yet find the time to give back in big ways to help others.
Today they celebrate our own Liz Miele who serves as the assistant engineer for the Town of Bethlehem and is also a dedicated Elsmere firefighter. Her commitment to the department has led her to work her way up to hold the prestigious position of President of the Fire Company—making her the first female to hold this role in the department’s 102-year history. Liz’s passion and dedication are evident in both her professional and volunteer work, where she continuously demonstrates strong leadership and a deep commitment to her community.

Catalano, 1 for Brendan Boyle and 5 Void votes. Commissioner Catalano currently oversees the Administration, Insurance, and Health programs for the Fire District.
